Great move by AU on the Pearl hire. I must admit as a Johnny Vol, this stings. I was/am a big fan of Bruce. Say what you will but, I believe the man went 3-1 against those back-to-back champion Florida teams with Dane Bradshaw at power forward.
Looks like in the future Auburn is raising the bar and UT will be lowering the curtains.
Patrick Henry, Patrick Roy, Patrick Sajak, and Danica Patrick
Maybe not the most famous, but sound cool to me:
Edward R. Murrow, Booker T. Washington, RC Slocum, and finally FRED G. SANFORD
Bernard King, Larry Bird, The Pistol, and James "Fly" Williams (Austin Peay). If you're under 40, you probably never heard of the Fly. If you ever saw him play, you'd never forget him.
I just read the Hargis piece and could not believe my eyes. So Marion County has actually hired the guy that walked out on South Pittsburg??? I followed the story last year about the vandalism and couldn't believe that had happened. So let me get this straight. Marion County coaches paint their own field house and try to blame South Pitt. One of the coaches steal a playbook from SP. Then hire the guy who walked out on SP. Talk about throwing kerosene on a fire. Is there any sanity at all in the Marion County School Administration? Surely adults in a leadership role can use better judgement than this. Maybe there are more reasons for SP winning 8 in a row than just talent.
Best move of the draft in my opinion was the Vikes getting 3 very good players in the first round. Worst move has to be EJ Manuel, doesn't it? I personally liked Denver's draft, they got better without a lot of fan fare. I would have to say DaRick has a better chance. Andy Reid is good, but I doubt he can pull that one off.
Yes HardCopy, I agree. But in the days when the Titans were good they always had a stout D (plus Jeff Fisher). Now they can't stop running water. Here is hoping they address this in a big way this draft.
Hey five, yes Butch is a bit of a reach but GM's draft a lot on potential and having a big upside, don't they? Side note to my earlier post, the Colonel Slade reference was because Al Pacino turned 73 today. How about a little love for his work someday?
Jones, forgot about Davis and don't know of any others out there.
I'll take Butch. Colonel Slade says: "it's a valuable future, he's gonna make you proud some day"
