jt, We don't need labor unions, but we sure do need morals.
The values of religion have played a major role in the civilization of humans. The human race evolved from hunter gatherers to more community oriented society because of the belief of a higher power. The Bill of Rights were written with the morals and values in the bible. The laws of Islam were based on the Koran. So if you believe in God or not we owe a great amount of gratitude to whomever wrote the ten commandments.
hotdiggity, Albert Einstein held the same belief. That's what I meant by both views can co exist.
ike, understood, maybe we can chat about other topics in the future that I am more versed in.lol
So ike what you are saying is science is evolving.
Thank you Dr. ikeithlu. Wasn't really seeking a biology lesson on my comments. You are very well versed on this subject and most are not, but in the end we should all be able to agree that since we will probably never know the truth we shouldn't denigrate each other over the whole thing. That's what Clay Bennett draws his silly cartoons isn't it. Some of the comments on both sides are appalling. Also, if humans didn't evolve from apes then why did the science teachers in high school waste our time making us study those evolution charts that showed us coming out of the soup of life and evolve in gradual steps until we reached human.
I agree that evolution has been proven through science. What hasn't been proven is the big bang theory or that one species evolves into another. If monkeys evolved into humans, then why are there still monkeys? I say you can believe in both. The first(old) testament of the bible is more of a history of civilized culture. The need to understand why we are here has dogged humans for thousands of years. Both sides of this debate have good points and counter points but at the end of the day NOBODY knows what happened billions of years ago so it's ALL theory. I lean towards a creator because "It just happened" doesn't make much sense. Something or someone had to create the energy to make the bang possible. On the other hand who created God? It's like watching a dog chase his tail around and around and around. It's enough to make one dizzy.
dude, about this stereotyping white southern men. It is greatly insulting. I just happen to be one of those little league coaches in the inner city. I coached at East lake community center for 6 years. My wife and I volunteered thousands of hours as coach, umpire, grounds keeper, concession stand worker and taxi service for the same minorities you say I hate. There was no pay, in fact I spent money out of my own pocket to buy gloves for the kids I hated so much. So the next time you decide to put all white people in a racist box don't because it makes you sound ignorant and racist.
Germany and China are building up their army's at warp speed and the U.S. wants to downsize? This same thing happened in the mid 70's. Cut the military and spend the savings on increasing the progressive welfare state and creating the failed Dept. of Education and other big government money pits that failed. There needs to be much better oversight and less waste.
dude, you must be smoking some good stuff, your comment's are offending me ( just kidding). My dad taught me long ago not to worry about things I can't control and focus on the things I can. It wouldn't offend me if YOU called me a racial slur, because like I said in an earlier post I'm confident in my skin color like every race should. Also, I try not to lie on public forums, that can get you in a messy situation. By the way, what color are Native Americans.
