UT is still trying to decide on what kind of offense and this is mid-October. At least at the Orange and White game, the VOlS won! Recruit the talent and provide the talent with the tools and coaching that they need. Tennessee has not had an explosive quarterback in years and we need a special teams coach that can concentrate on getting the job done. Special teams gives up points and opportunities. Restructure the program and rejoin the SEC elite. Go BIG ORANGE!

On University of Tennessee Vols must pump more air into offense

I disagree. If he knew that it was time, he would have already left. It was time a few years ago. Be prepared to lose to Vanderbilt, S.C. and be demoralized by Alabama. Fulmer needs to go so that UT can recruit talent. Bring in a big name coach and let's clean house and rebuild. Randy Shannon, Trooper Taylor, let's start talking. Sadly to say, "It's not been Football Time in Tennessee in a few years!" I feel sorry for the players and the fans. Go Big Orange! And, Thank you, Johnny Majors for the memories!

How about we open the competition for Head Coach?

On Vols reopen quarterback competition after loss

Greg Adkins may be a returning assistant, but he does not have enough experience to be an Offensive Line Coach at a major SEC school. Coach Fulmer? If this is all that he sees wrong with the football program, then Saturday will be a blood bath and we will sink to the bottom of the SEC. Why do other teams begin the year with discipline and leadership, but it has to be a work in progress at UT and by the end of the season, it's better? I bleed orange and I am bleeding more and more every week when I see the lack of execution and organization in the football program. It is sad when you have to get the basketball coach to motivate a football pep rally. I've had my Phil! Can anyone say Head Football Coach Randy Shannon? Just a thought.

On Penalties have greatly hindered UT

Hire a new AD. Hire a new Head Coach and let the current assistants reapply for their jobs...except Chavis. He needs to sit on the porch with Phil. Do you think that the business world would pay millions per year for mediocrity? Extend contracts and give raises for 75% effort? It's not the players' fault entirely, but they must be very embarassed. You don't fumble on the 1-yard line in the SEC. If they played the game over next Saturday, I guarantee you that Phil would kick off to B.James and say, "dadgummit, he did it again!" Have you had your Phil? Write to the University and share your opinion.

On Fulmer should hire a special-teams coach

Let the new coach hire a special teams coach and let the new AD hire a new head coach. Until that happens, UT is a basketball school. Tickets are sold, but now people aren't wasting gas money to go the the games. Think the convention hotels can still charge $250 per nite for a 2-nite minimum? Think again...rooms have already been cancelled and tickets are going for $10 on the street for some of the remaining games. UT...wake up or you will need the Federal Goverment to bail you out of the money already spent on the stadium. How about a bailout for Fulmer's salary? Give him a desk job and let him take someone to lunch. We don't even play smashmouth football, we just plain get outsmarted. We need to recruit blue chip QBs and punt returners. Go Big Orange! I've had my Phil!

On This really is no longer a rivalry

Too many Septembers have come and gone for Coach Fulmer and he has let those chances slip away. Meyer, like Spurrier has his number, but Meyer isn't going anywhere. My beloved Vols have slipped to the 2nd tier of the SEC. Need new blood (Coach Randy Shannon?). Do the right thing if you love the VOLS and leave now before you are thrown out. **Why kick to B James??? Outsmarted/Outplayed/Outcoached!

On Tennessee Vols look to rebound after loss

I am deeply saddened and disappointed at the decision by Boardchairman Stan Porter and President Charles Stewart of Hutcheson Medical Center not to renew Dr. Noel Scidmore's contract. Not only did the medical center turn a profit for the first year, but many people are becoming aware of the state of the art facilities that affords patients to fight cancer and recieve answers quickly without the inconvenience of going from facility to facility to receive the necessary care. Dr. Scidmore treats his patients with dignity and respect while providing them the very best care possible. This is an outrage and a travesty not only for the people of Northwest Georgia, but for anyone who has been fortunate to receive quality care from this outstanding physician. I pray not for the patients he has treated, but for the ones who will need his expert care and concern in the future. Dr. Scidmore treats the disease and prays for the soul. What wonderful characteristics for a Christian doctor! Please reconsider this bad decision.
