3 killed in East Ridge tunnel crash. Man charged with vehicular homicide

A man has been charged with vehicular homicide after trying to flee from a car crash that killed three people in an East Ridge tunnel, according to officials.

East Ridge officers responded Saturday morning to the single-car crash in the Bachman Tunnel on Ringgold Road, according to a news release.

Kimberlyn Lopez Gallard, 29, Alexandra Vera, 24, and Edguar Medina, about 20 to 25 years old, died in the crash, according to police.

Yerson Ysaac Sanchez Rivera, 24, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Monday, where he is being held on a $270,000 bond.

He faces charges including driving under the influence, three counts of vehicular homicide, failure to render aid, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
