It’s looking like a windy weekend in the Chattanooga area.

As Hurricane Isaias closed in on the Gulf coast Friday into Saturday morning, East Tennessee braced for high winds and a fair amount of rain.

Those winds and rains seemed more certain Friday than they were earlier in the week, National Weather Service meteorologist Anthony Cavallucci said during an online briefing Friday afternoon.

The hurricane was upgraded to a Category 3 storm Friday morning.
