An 88-year-old woman died after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing East Main Street on Saturday night, Chattanooga police said.
Police responded around 9:20 p.m. to the 300 block of East Main Street, where the driver of a white Chevy pickup truck reportedly hit two people among a group of five using a crosswalk, according to a press release and police report.
“The remaining three had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck as well,” an officer wrote in the report.
