DALTON, Ga. — For 24 minutes of Friday night’s GHSA Region 7-AA showdown in Dalton, Dade County looked like the league’s top team.

The final 24 minutes, though, told a different story.

Christian Heritage, playing its first home game after six consecutive road contests, withstood a Dade County barrage in the opening half to escape to the locker room on homecoming in a scoreless game, then scored on its next five possessions to win 31-7.

The victory moves the Lions to 7-1 and 3-1 in 7-AA, tying the Wolverines (4-4, 3-1) and Fannin County with one loss each with two games to play. The Lions earlier lost to the Rebels, who were defeated by the Wolverines.
