Bradley man to be in court Feb. 22
A Bradley County man charged with cultivating marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs for resale will appear in court Feb. 22 after he was arrested in Florida boarding a flight to Ecuador.
Police took interest in Mark Daniel Bowman, 31, after a burglary in progress was reported at his Mount Bethel Road home on Feb. 5. Responding officers entered the home through an unsecured door while looking for burglars and said they saw several marijuana plants. A warrant was issued, and investigators reported finding nearly 200 marijuana plants in the home.
Florida police arrested Bowman about three days later, and he was returned to Bradley County on Wednesday. He is being held by the Bradley County Sheriff's Office on $75,000 bail and will appear in General Sessions Court.
Carjack attempt reported to police
A Krystal restaurant employee told police that a man in a ski mask tried to carjack him early Wednesday morning.
Travis Lawson arrived at work about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday at the Krystal on Signal Mountain Road when a masked man ran up to him and tried to pull him from his vehicle, he said. Lawson broke free and told the man police were on the way, causing the man to flee, he said.
Lawson told police he couldn't stay at the restaurant because he had volunteered at the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" build site in Rossville, but police still responded to the scene.
Officers patrolled the area but weren't able to find the masked man.
