about Clay Bennett...
The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Another year come and gone. Hope 2012 did right by you and may your 2013 be even better. Enjoy whatever holiday it is you and yours celebrate. If you don't recognize any of the major holidays...Have yourself a good time anyway. If they don't invite you to the party, throw your own!
I'm checking out for a bit but will catch up with the action in the new year. Until then: Keep your shiny side up and your dirty side down.
Are you willing to reduce your budget by the same percent as the 100 million per year being thrown around in D.C. as an aggressive spending reduction of the 3.5 trillion annual budget proposed? I think if you multiply your annual budget by .00003 you will be close to how much you have to cut your personal budget. IE. an annual budget of $24,000 X .00003= .72 leaving you with only 23,999.28 to spend.
Alprova, this comparison was received in an email, you are the accountant, is the math about right? If it is, I would think the governments margin of accounting error is greater than the annual reduction being discussed.
Wishing for everyone a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, prosperous new year.
As a new participant in this forum I would like to propose a new years resolution.
No personal attacks, name calling or profanity directed at others. Say you disagree and clearly post your opinion, only ask questions about other opinions for clarity.
The life span of this resolution would probably not last as long for some as those to lose weight and get in shape.
What a fine example of Bennett's inability to do any thing original, every year he closes with a recycling of his own tired drivel.
Here is a few seconds of video that is more entertaining than the entire career of Clay Bennett.

Bennett's in print cartoons are good for two things. Emergency toilet paper and wrapping fish. What a left wing idiot.
fairmon said...The life span of this resolution would probably not last as long for some as those to lose weight and get in shape.
Assuming that it was made by anyone, the life span of the resolution was 55 minutes for the first post and 56 minutes for the second.
Those who can't add an intelligent, or factually verifiable, comment to the discussion resort to lobbing insults. Bennett is a talented, Pulitzer-winning editorial cartoonist, and does not deserve the verbal abuse he takes in this forum from those who get a sick thrill out of hating.
I got a lot of good laughs out of Clay's work this year and I especially enjoyed "Election Day" and Romney's etch-a-sketch. Looking forward to another year of Clay's brilliance and even the cane shaking and beard wagging of the peanut gallery.
My favs are the mistletoe and the one he had ratholed in case Romney won!
moon4kat: Awards such as the Pulitzer have been diminished over the years. After all, the president won a Nobel, no?

Rebus_JackEntire... I don't think Bennett or Obama ever declared bankruptcy on their good name and henceforth pretended to be a 'new, improved' version of themselves. Gotta give 'em that.
Clinton Pledges Funds to Add Police to Schools
Violence: President also earmarks money for child-counseling programs. GOP critics say youth problems should be addressed at home.
April 16, 2000|LAWRENCE L. KNUTSON | ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON — Marking the first anniversary of the shooting deaths at Columbine High School, President Clinton announced $120 million in new federal grants Saturday to place more police officers in schools and help even the youngest kids cope with their problems.
"In our national struggle against youth violence we must not fail our children; our future depends on it," the president said in his weekly radio address
Went down to the pet store this morn, told them i needed one of them little fish that swam around suckin the scum off me aquarium walls!they brought me a water filled bag w/ two fish in it and i asked them what kinda fhs they were! They said "Those are "dude Abides" best scum suckers we got!
Mooncat.....I guess you were talking about my comments referencing the toilet paper and fish wrapping. I know that the liberal intelligentsia has the only right to make a comment. Pulitzer prize-winning? All that means is in this case is a lot of other liberal "Journalists" Gave an award to another liberal cartoonist. Since about 85% of journalist and cartoonists are liberal this means absolutely nothing.
Talent? He is so predictable in the subject matter and what he says about them that it's almost juvinile. It's no big surprise that you liberal imbeciles think that he's talented. When he preaches to the choir, to people like you for example, he seems really smart and funny. To The adults he's a bore. Just another lefty mouthpiece in the media.
I tried to explain this in childlike terms that you liberals could understand.
But you know, jesse, at least you know who you're dealing with. I can't ignore these folks changing their names. Why would you do that? I wouldn't expect that kind of thing to bother a scatter brained, suspender clad, unshaven mess like yourself, but some of us need some semblance of order in our lives, and these shape shifters that don't want to stand by the things they've said in the past should just go somewhere else. By the way, you didn't even adhere to the standard set, regarding name calling, by the slippery guy you're defending. Over.
Dude, IF i needed ORDER in my life the LAST place on earth i would hang out is on HERE!!
You my friend are a SWEATER! You get your panty hose in a WAD over sh!t that ain't worth it and in the process make an ass out of your self!OR at least show what an ass you really are!
tis the season to be jolly.
jesse... you might notice that there was neither swearing nor exclamation points in my post, so... maybe you should straighten your silk stockings, imbecile. Over.
"Rebus" said... "tis the season to be jolly."
'tis also the season, apparently, to re-invent yourself, Rebus_JackEntire. lol
OK, dude, we all know [or at least suspect] that Jack changed his avatar and login. And the seemingly endless point you are trying to make is??
You have squeezed just about the last of that juice from that particular rock.
Nice of you to put Rebus' comment in quotes...so it wouldn't choke you, perhaps??
how many sobriquets have you posted under, rolando? If I were trying to get a feel for peoples' opinions around here, I would be wise to divide the number of right wing comments by 3 to get a true liberal/conservative ratio. Sorry, rolando (in all your manifestations), I didn't mean to "harp" on the subject!
"Sobriquet", dude? Rather cutesy-poo, no?
Sorry to pop your balloon, but to answer your question -- none other than this one. I have used it solely for years on any number of boards/forums; a shorted, symbolized version was my evidentiary "mark" for decades before that.
Timbo wrote: "Pulitzer prize-winning? All that means is in this case is a lot of other liberal "Journalists" Gave an award to another liberal cartoonist. Since about 85% of journalist and cartoonists are liberal this means absolutely nothing."
It may mean nothing to you, but it means something to many, despite your convoluted definition.
"Talent? He is so predictable in the subject matter and what he says about them that it's almost juvinile."
Juvenile? When are you people like yourself ever going to start to understand that you're never going to rule the world, much less this country?
You're out-voted...end of story.
"It's no big surprise that you liberal imbeciles think that he's talented. When he preaches to the choir, to people like you for example, he seems really smart and funny. To The adults he's a bore. Just another lefty mouthpiece in the media."
And yet, some of you come back day after day, expecting a different result. When you don't see a different result, you whine, moan, attack, and demean the host of this forum as well as other's opinions and facts as if what you have to offer is valid.
It isn't and it never will be.
"I tried to explain this in childlike terms that you liberals could understand."
Who do you think you're fooling? You attempted to communicate with adults as if you were a child, if that was what you were attempting to do, because that is what you are when it comes right down to it.
There are many right-wing, conservative websites out there, where you can find all kinds of people willing to pat you on the back for offering your particular brands of truth and righteousness, but you and I know why you keep coming back here day after day, don't we?
Exactly, rolando! No balloons popped. You actually made my case. Solely because you stand behind what you say. What would have to happen for you to become, let's say, "Johnny7OMA?" LOL.
Gentle hearts,
A while back there was a case where a judge ruled that it wasn't against the law for a job lots store to replace the "best by" date on products with a newer "best by" dates.
The judge determined that because "best by" is just marketing and has nothing to do with legitimate product freshness - one fake date is as good as another.
Seems like one fake blog handle is as just as good another, no?
We all know Our Francis in any disguise.
Even though I no longer live in the area, I have grown fond of the posters here. Happy Holidays to all you you, right, left and center. May the new year give you plenty of time and energy to comment here.
Same to you, lu. From the center.
Seems there is no end to tragedy. A small, sweet, innocent little child climbed up into Santa's lap to share with him her wishes for Christmas. Just as she finished the mean, fat, racist white man with the beard called her a "Ho" three times before her mother could pull her from his lap.
Rebus said... "Same to you, lu. From the center."
Yeah, center of the Tea Bag Party.
Point taken, dude.
I cannot see that happening, unless and only unless, I wished to change from the sometimes/often old curmudgeon I am into a different persona. In which case I would change my login into something more modern.
Further, as I recall changing one's login changes all prior postings from the same IP address to reflect the new "name". So, unless the computer is changed [or the IP addr spoofed] login changes accomplish little.
