The Delivery

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Is this not the biggest joke yet from Hussein Obama's mouth? When will Hussein Obama fulfill his promise, or a better term would be lie, to solve his debt crisis?

President Barack Obama told Democratic donors that, while he doesn't think that the Euro will "unravel," European leaders should take "decisive steps" to solve their debt crisis. "I don't think ultimately that the Europeans will let the Euro unravel, but they are going to have to take some decisive steps," Obama told a $40,000 per-plate fundraiser at the NoMad hotel in New York City. "And I am spending an enormous amount of time, trying to work with them. The sooner that they take some decisive action, the better off we are going to be."

I could provide more evidence of you going into cursing rants or just rants in general. I know I've said it before but you're projecting. It is very clear who posts negativity, lies and blame here and it isn't myself or Happy.

You and your ignorance are what is wrong with this world. You have no capability whatsoever to reason or use logic. You constantly promote Right-wing propaganda which has already been debunked. You subscribe to known lies and misinformation.

No one here should ever take you seriously. Your incessant and unsubstantiated whining about Obama is a clear sign of your ignorance. Your unlettered and childish posts also serve as evidence.

The CEO sure hurt them expressing his opinion? 8/1/12 is the initial support day of those supporting his right to express his personal views whether in agreement or not. Apparently the mayors of Chicago and Boston don't think he should express an opinion differing from theirs and would deny people access to the product and jobs because he honestly and publicly express his personal views.

You do realize that the same freedom of expression you are advocating for Chick-fil-a, you are undermining with your denial of the same freedom for the mayors of Chicago and Boston to express.

Cathy has every right to say anything he wants. But the people and those mayors also have the right to refuse Chick-fil-a access to their cities, as well as call him/them bigots, homophobic, etc.

Expressing an opinion comes with consequences. Everyone has freedom of speech but that doesn't mean you have immunity from criticism. You can be criticized for your opinion just like anyone else and that is what is going on in this case.

The right will be for guns and saving the unborn while the left will be called godless comunists. Jesse should be frustrated. I am frustrated. But i still vote. July 31, 2012 at 4:49 p.m.

harp3339, if you think that Chik-Fil-A's sandwiches are good, you have some strange preferences. They certainly aren't the best on the market by any means?

But what about Chik-Fil-A's own conduct? Do you know what started this conflict? Spending money trying to influence the laws. Should they not be criticized for that when others disagree? What about firing women and hiring men as replacements? What about suing the person with the "Eat More Kale" slogan? What about the Chik-Fil-A that hired illegal immigrants, sexually harassed them, fired them when they protested, then tried to deport them? What about the lawsuit from the Muslim who was fired for not praying to Jesus?

You can navel-gaze all you want about wanting freedom to the point where you're oppressing others, but that's just sophistry. This isn't about somebody expressing his personal views.

This is about somebody trying to force his discriminatory ways on the rest of us.

But no, I'm not surprised there's a lot of people behind that. After all, they're standing against them Evul Liberals and how dare them liberals say it's not ok to demand that same-sex couples not have marriage rights!

The first of "10 things Liberals talk about continuously but cannot understand" [from J Hawkins] More to follow.

"1) Being Open Minded: To a liberal, this has nothing at all to do with seriously considering other people's ideas. To the contrary, liberals define being "open-minded" as agreeing with them. What could be more close-minded than assuming that not only are you right, but that you don't even need to consider another viewpoint because anyone who disagrees must be evil?"

After reviewing the posts here, the Liberals aren't alone on this one...

"2) Racism: Liberals start with the presumption that only white people who don't belong to the Democratic Party can be racist. So, for example, even if Jeremiah Wright can make it clear that he hates white people because of their skin color or if liberals take an explicitly racist political position, like suggesting that black people are too stupid and incompetent to get identification to vote, they can't be racist. White Republicans, on the other hand, are generally assumed to be racist by default, no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary."

"3) Fairness: In all fairness, I must admit that fairness is an arbitrary concept. So, you could make the argument that no one could get "fairness" wrong. Still, liberals do because they don't make any effort to actually "be fair." As a practical matter, liberals define "fairness" as taking as much as possible from people who they don't think are going to vote for them and giving it to people who may vote for them in return for their ill gotten largesse. Certainly conservatives, libertarians, and moderates might disagree about how much money to take from the wealthy to redistribute to the poor or how to help the disadvantaged, but the only liberal answer to the question, "How much is enough?" is "more." "

rolando said...

Yes, he is rather good isn't he, conservative. The next keep getting better...and more accurate.

This one, for instance:

"4) Greed: To a liberal, believing that you pay too much in taxes or even opposing paying more in taxes is greedy. In actuality, wanting to loot as much money as possible that someone else has earned to use for your own purposes, which is what liberals do, is a much better example of greed."

July 31, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

TOES02800, it turns out the people really doing the taking have a whole lot of stuff, what with all they've taken. It's funny, it's almost like they've gotten rich somehow, but where oh where did their wealth really come from?

As to what they contribute, well, ain't that the question? They contribute a lot to lobbying politicians, they contribute a lot to getting the politicians they wanted elected, but yeah, sometimes they are lacking a bit in genuine contributions. But don't worry, they've got a good smoke-screen going on. They've convinced you that they're the victims, that's why they need special protection. They're also good at getting you to think somebody else is the threat to you.

But here's the conservative idea of fairness: Giving them everything they want, and pretending that's actually a compromise on their part. When asked what's fair, a conservative answers with "Me having all I want from you" and doesn't care about the rest.

As for Greed, here's a conservative's idea of greed: Anybody else who wants anything from them. Especially that evil government which is so greedy to demand that you actually pay taxes for the services you receive. Why won't they let you opt out? Why are you forced to pay them, why can't you just depend on yourself!

That dovetails into their idea of freedom being some anarcho-libertarianism.

"5) Hate: Liberals often define simple disagreement with them on issues like gay marriage, tax rates, or abortion as hatred. No matter how well a position is explained, or the logical underpinnings behind it, it's chalked up to hate. Meanwhile, the angriest, most vicious, most hateful people in all of politics are liberals railing against what they say is "hatred." This irony is completely lost on the Left."

How is wanting to keep more of what we earn "greedy"? Non-earners wanting to take what earners have is not "greed"? It's well documented that conservatives donate more to charity than do liberals. I think that makes liberals "greedy".

Notice the "any time you want". That is most assuredly NOT any time the government forces you to.

TOES02800: There's your problem, you think the takers are the have-nots. They're the have-lots, that's why they have the power to take, and they're taking more to have more.

And damn, you mean in five year the federal government could find a way to utilize the sand in the Sahara? Or were you talking about finding a way to turn the sand into productive soil? Either way that'd be wonderful. Unfortunately, the Sahara is the sovereign domain of about a dozen different countries, so I guess we'll have to pass on that plan. Oh well, and we did such a good job dealing with the Dust Bowl too!

But as I said, but you seemed to have missed, the greed is anybody else wanting anything from them. That's the conservative idea of greed. In other words, not letting anybody else earn anything. The real question is why don't you want to let people earn anything?

And with the conservative idea of charity including things like trying to influence the outcome of an election or churches enriching their own sites, I'm not exactly impressed by that bare statistic.

Why don't you give us details on where the charity actually goes?

rolando: I bet you're thinking the poor are doing the taking too.

Too bad that's not the case.

However have you ever noticed how conservatives always seem to justify their every position with "evidence" or "logic" that confirms their prejudice, but turns out to be manufactured and distorted? Really, just because you pompously declare that you're rational and reasoned doesn't make it so, if anything it makes it more likely you're not. The irony of that is utterly lost on the Right.

Not just "too", bulbs. Rather, "primarily".

How have they "earned" their largess? By merely being "poor"? They are actually far wealthier than some 90% of the world population, as I recall reading somewhere. [Although they DO kill each other surprisingly often over a pair of tenny-runners or somesuch.]

Funny, but I don't recall any conservatives here "pompously declar[ing]" themselves "rational and reasoned" beyond normal bounds. Liberals -- in the midst of a snit with spittle flying, of course -- are the ones saying we claim that...

July 31, 2012 at 7:25 p.m.

Ah, let me explain the conservative (especially locust capitalist) view of investment: Find a way to take the value others have worked for, leverage it against them, and keep the profits for yourself. To a conservative being able to claim the fruits of another makes the question of actually earning it so irrelevant that they're lost on the concept. It's just accepted that if you have something, it doesn't matter how you got it. They don't even bother to question the methods.

And no, rolando, the poor aren't taking most of the government's largess, not at all. You really need to see who's the beneficiary. Who is getting wealthy from that government spending. You can wax eloquently over how the poor in this country have it better than most of the undeveloped world if you like, but you really should pay attention to who benefits even more.

I suppose you'd rather resent them having refrigerators and microwaves and televisions. If only they were in mud huts, then you'd feel they deserved your charity!

But actually, yes, you do declare yourself to be rational and reasoned, that was the whole point of the comment. It's the typical conservative arrogance with a complete inability to recognize their actions.

Your comments re: charity/welfare, bubls leads nicely into

"7) Charity: Contributing your own money or time to a good cause is charity. Liberals view themselves as charitable if they take someone else's tax dollars and give it away to people they hope will vote for them in return. At a minimum, they should at least credit the taxpayers who paid for the money they gave away for the charity, although it's not really charity if it's involuntary. Of course, there's nothing charitable about asking someone else to sacrifice for your gain, which could actually be better described as selfish. "

Not only that, you are now claiming "others have worked for something" when the topic is those who are on the dole.

July 31, 2012 at 7:33 p.m.

Here's how conservatives view their charity: Building their church a nice children's play center(but only for their own children to access!), or maybe holding a dinner where they all get together and grouse about what the liberals are doing to ruin society. Of course the idea of building a playground for the public, or sharing that dinner with somebody who needs it, well, that's just not going to happen. They wouldn't appreciate it if they didn't earn it.

That's why the truth path of charity is to make people appreciate their poverty. That'll inspire them to work to get rich. So they can take advantage of the lower rates of capital gains taxes.

Keep setting up these strawman rolando, they've all been shot down anyway.

You're just a servant to your own ideology. You don't even realize that EVERYTHING you say about earning your way is the same sentiment found in the Marxist thought you so despise. Did you know Marx even supported putting land to work, not letting it go to waste? Horrors!

The only difference is you'd rather not recognize who's really taking from you. You don't want to admit that the people really getting the "dole" you hate are the ones who have the most influence on government. You focus on the table scraps while ignoring who eats the caviar.

Same thing for those dinners, etc. You must choose not to attend or allow your children to attend them...your choice, of course. As usual, that is anyone's fault but yours, hm-m-m?

Ever hear of Food Banks? Who do you think helps support those? All one need do is show proof of need to get in [to cut down on those posers who prey on the needy].

Liberals don't get this distinction. For one thing, they don't understand the difference between tolerance and acceptance. They also don't extend any of the tolerance they're agitating for to people who disagree with them. there will always be elections. I tell

them that we are no longer the land of the free

and that if Obama gets Re-elected in 2012 that

this just may be America 's last  election.
In the past three years, the Obama administration has

been very carefully crafting the nation for a

political take over by his Marxist regime and

this isn't just my opinion.

Popular radio talk show host (of the Savage Nation on

the Talk Radio Network), Michael Savage, is the son of Russian   immigrants and is very familiar with Soviet and European

history. Savage warned his listeners this

Europe. I don't believe it's going to be like

Europe - I think it will be closer to Chavez's

South American dictatorship.

"This is the most corrupt, incompetent, dangerous

tyrannical administration in American history.

It's not politics as usual. It's not just

Democrats versus Republicans. Obama has a long

history of being at odds with American values

and with America itself and the core principles

of this country. They don't want

government-sponsored opinions. They only want

government-sponsored 'Pravda.' That's exactly

what the government-media complex tells you on a

daily basis - nothing but the government-media

complex party line. Pay attention! Your freedom

may be at stake!

Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum

told a small group of people in an Iowa coffee

what he's doing and why he's doing it. He sees

that are designed to go into effect in

January 2013, just in time for his second term of office.   The economic burden and increased taxes on everyone will be

enough to cause the final economic collapse of

the country. As soon as that happens, Obama

declares Martial Law and assumes dictatorial

control of the nation.

The Department of Justice has already been

subverting federal laws to strip us of a number

other federal courts have been seeded with

socialistic liberal judges that will rule in

Obama's favor on virtually anything, thus ending

of radical Muslims into the US military where

they get all the training they need on weapons

and defense systems. We have no idea how many of

them there are in the armed forces or in what

Obama has been wielding executive powers this past year as

if he were already a dictator. When Congress is

not doing his bidding, he simply bypasses them

disbandment of Congress. He would not be the

rolando, open to all children? Not in my experience. In my experience, they keep them locked up tight, using your excuses, yes of course, but you know what they are? Excuses. Same with offering food. They might grudgingly serve out a meal to somebody homeless or disabled, but they don't welcome the person, they don't offer any further help if they can, sometimes they even outright express their disdain, like "Those terrible people, why can't they just stop being and be fine upright citizens like us!"

But you don't want to hear that, do you? Much better to condemn those in need while justifying doing so. After all, it's easier to find fault in somebody else. That way when you don't give, it's because you care that it not be wasted. You're really just looking out for what's right, aren't you?

And patriotism? Conservatives claim to love the country so much that they use that love as a weapon. After all, anybody who doesn't love the country as they want it...well, obviously they're in the wrong. That's why it's so important to conservatives to paint others as not being patriotic, after all, anybody who doesn't swear their love for "GOD AND COUNTRY" is the enemy and can be ignored.

Hey wait, isn't that an easy way to condemn people?

Incredible role models for women like Sarah Palin can't be feminists to liberals because she doesn't share the same liberal beliefs as sexist pigs like Anthony Weiner and Bill Maher. How can you have any meaningful "diversity" when everyone has to think the same way?"

Ah rolando, repeating that misleading statistic again? Actually most of that percentage is in three groups:

Children. Disabled. Senior Citizens.

Terrible of them, they should all be working hard, very hard, every last one of them.

And they get nowhere near the benefits of the people REALLY influencing government do. It's not a matter of voting, not in the ballot box, but working the individuals elected for the people. Who do they listen to? Who has the most influence?

As for tolerance, ah, conservatives, they continually claim they're not being tolerated in their intolerance, that they're the true victims of bigotry, that they're the ones being persecuted.

After all, if they're not free to condemn and oppress others, are they truly free at all? They complain that they're marginalized by being forced to accept others, to no longer deny to others the same rights and privileges they so fiercely enjoy. That they are the ones being silenced, as if they were interested in defending the freedom of others.

Keep playing the victim rolando, that right-wing tactic is as unbelievable as your other methods. Believe it or not, liberals aren't fools enough to fall for your attempt at sophistry.

rolando, Oh my, the classic method of the Republican to avoid criticism and establish false credit based on superficial qualities. You want to make yourself untouchable by resting your case on who you are, after all, it's easy to say "Oh no, I'm the true leader here, by breaking with the crowd I'm supposed to belong too, I'm showing that I'm strong and independent, and a free-thinker, that's why I'm so hated by the evil liberals" which just so coincidentally gets you to the head of the conservative pack.

Of course that you're actually just relying on a superficial quality rather than anything with depth isn't relevant. How dare you point that out! Listen to the outrage over being challenged!

joneses: Nothing has driven fear into the hearts of Conservatives more than a black Democrat being elected President of the United States.

One thing...the Legislative Branch will be out of work.

I hopefully won't see the full disintegration of our country, but I weep for our children. DHS has ordered pilot training/testing for thousands of Predator drones for use on the civilian US population "during expected civil unrest and uprisings during the pre- and post-election period". Translation -- DHS will fire on us indiscriminately. Further, all US military forces are preparing for battle within the US and against US citizens. Fact.

July 31, 2012 at 8:16 p.m.

Oh poor rolando, you're prevented from fixing this election by denying people the right to vote while falsely claiming that you're dealing with a non-existent problem.

Since the legislative branch, or at least a good half of it, has been avoiding doing any of the work they promised to do, instead preferring to spend much of their time wasted on repealing a law, I question when they're going to do any work.

Funny conspiracy theory though. But I'm sure the Mayan apocalypse will render that question moot. So what are you worried about? Just load yourself up with debt, bundle it to somebody else, then when it collapses, convince the government to bail you out as too big to fail.
