Call for art at Shanks Center

The Shanks Center for the Arts, 140 N. Main St., in Crossville, Tenn., changes the art in its three galleries every month. In July, two will exhibit visual works on any topic -- any theme, any color, any medium. The challenge for the other is "Red, White and Blue," though this painting by Henri Jatho illustrates the color constraint is not limited to a patriotic theme. Delivery dates for submitting works for review are 2-5 p.m. Sunday and noon-5 p.m. Monday. A reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday (all times Central). Complete guidelines and future schedules are posted at www.cumberlandart.com. For more information, call 931-787-1936.
