Attorney Lance W. Parr of Athens, Tenn., has been suspended for one year after he had an affair with a woman he was representing in a divorce, a news release says.
Parr also forged a client’s signature to a document, notarized the signature and submitted the document to the court, according to the release from Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee.
He also tried to stop a subpoena for text messages, claiming attorney-client privilege, but that privilege was not applicable in this case, the release said.
