Chattanooga Lookouts overpower Huntsville Stars, 8-2

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Pitcher Ethan Martin and the Chattanooga Lookouts beat the Huntsville Stars 8-2 in Southern League baseball Friday night.

Martin allowed one run in seven innings while striking out nine as Chattanooga easily evened the series at two games apiece.

After spotting Huntsville a 1-0 lead, the Lookouts (13-16) tied the game in the second inning on Luis Nunez's double to left field that scored Blake Smith. Chattanooga went ahead for good in the third when Jake Lemmerman was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a J.T. Wise single, took third on a Kyle Russell fly to right and scored on Pedro Baez's single to center.

The Lookouts led 4-1 in the sixth, when they broke the game open with four runs. Nunez singled to left to score Russell and Nunez, and the Stars committed three errors in the inning.

The five-game series in Huntsville ends tonight, beginning at 7:43 EDT. Aaron Miller (1-2, 5.96 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Josh Stinson (3-1, 4.15) scheduled for the Stars.
