Trial date set for Traci Carpenter in death of 18-month-old daughter

A criminal court judge set Feb. 4, 2014, as the trial date for a local mother charged in connection with her daughter's 2006 death.

Traci Carpenter, 26, faces a trial on aggravated child neglect in connection with her 18-month-old daughter Sierra Carpenter's death that year.

Both she and her then-boyfriend were charged with allegations of ongoing abuse and neglect that prosecutors say led to the girl's death. The boyfriend, Brian Rutherford, was acquitted in a 2008 trial.
