Dalton firefighter finishes second in games’ ‘Toughest Overall Competitor’ event

A Dalton, Ga., firefighter finished second today in the “Toughest Overall Competitor” event at the 2013 Georgia Fire & Police Games, a news release states.

Firefighter Douglas Kerns completed the event, which included an obstacle course and a 1.7-mile run, in 20 minutes and 12 seconds, according to the release from the Dalton Police Department.

The winner from the Chamblee Police Department finished in 19 minutes and 25 seconds.

The annual games are continuing all week in Dalton.
