about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

See if this is in the book...

General Motors Co said on Wednesday it will move its international operations headquarters to Singapore in the second quarter of 2014. Many multinational companies are lured to Singapore's shores by its competitive tax rates, use of the English language, skilled workforce and high standards of living.

Its headline corporate tax rate is 17 percent, though companies that base their regional headquarters there can benefit from a lower rate if they meet certain criteria such as providing jobs and spending a certain level of money in the city-state.

Reuters news..

The U.S. government has booked a loss of $9.7 billion on the nearly $50 billion bailout of U.S. automaker General Motors, according to a quarterly report to Congress on Tuesday.

I am not a Palin fan or supporter and would not vote for her. However, the slanderous book is criticized by the liberal NYT as full of unsubstantiated rumors from unidentified sources and from blogs of her critics.

It appears the author is using the National inquirer method of increasing sales for personal gain with no regard for the truth.

Those thinking this book is valid should also believe all those allegations about Clinton's history which I also seriously doubt.

Obama trashed himself or maybe it was Ayers the ghostwriter. See, rumors go both ways.

"jesse said... Palin's BIG mistake was having the audacity to run for V.P. and speaking her mind!"

Palin's BIG mistake is the fact she was a dumbazz who was not ready for Prime time. McCain's people didn't realize the mistake they had made in NOT vetting her properly until it was way too late. As for speaking her mind, She doesn't have a mind to speak. However, I will give her this much, she's made a fortune off the dumbazz followers who think she's great. That's (as Limric pointed out) good for her family and it does set them up for life. It's like they won the Alaskan Teabilly lottery.

As for President Obama and the books he's written, the first book was written long before he even considered running for President. President Obama did not get to be the head of the Harvard Law Review just because of the color of his skin(although ignorant, stupid racists believe he did). He was able to articulate and express himself in a way few can ever do. Something Sarah "dumbazz" Palin and her followers wish she could do but still can't not even with cue cards. Repubs hoped they had a Hillary when they jumped on her band wagon but sadly she is the female version of George W. (I make up words as I go) Bush. She didn't have what it took in 2008 to be a heart beat away from the Presidency, she still doesn't have it today and she never will but at least she knows how to make money!! LOL

Righttt. LOL Like I said she's got her followers who don't mind being made the butt of jokes just like she is and she has capitalized on that. John McCain and his people were looking for a GAME CHANGER. They thought they had one with her, but once she opened her mouth and started talking the rest of the country (that might have considered McCain a better choice because of his experience) were scared off when they realized this dumbazz would be one heart beat away from the Presidency and she was about as ignorant and stupid as they come.

The only reason she was governor of Alaska is because the pickings were slim to none. Even the people of Alaska eventually saw the folly of their mistake. It's why she chose not to finish her four years as their governor.

If not for McCain and his people making a mistake by choosing a so-called "Game Changer" over Lieberman or some other more INTELLIGENT CHOICE McCain might have won. Doubtful but infinitely more possible if not for Palin when she opened her dumb, stupid mouth.

As for her doing a lot better than me, she's doing a lot better than many people but the difference is most(including myself) don't have to sit in front of a camera to make a fool of themselves to give comedians more material to use for their jokes. She is a joke so she deserves some compensation for grabbing the so-called "brass ring" of notoriety.

Sarah Palin should have stayed tucked away in her little corner of the world and never set foot on the national stage. She has no more wits about her than Kim Kardashian or even Honey Boo Boo or any other reality star who has had fame thrust upon them by a sheer twist of fate. All of you folks praising her for having the wits to capitalize on her celebrity status are talking rubbish. Just like she has ghost writers to write her books, she has advisors who are helping her every step of the way. I'm sure she has some degree of business sense of her own but it doesn't take a lot of smarts to know that a book or a film or anything that her gullible fans will buy that has her name on it is money in the bank for her. I'm surprised she hasn't come up with her own perfume or clothing line, specializing in hunting duds for women.

I know what you mean .... it’s amazing what you can find when you wander around the internet.

A woman claiming to be a former classmate says she recalls President Barack Obama as a cross-dressing teenager who engaged in gay sex with older men in exchange for cocaine.

She says the teenage Obama was an egotist and “pathological liar” whose falsehoods were always intended to “boost himself, he seemed to be incapable or genuine about anything.”

She knew Obama was deeply involved in Waikiki beach’s “thriving” gay community as a teen, even though the future president was a few years older and had a different circle of friends.

“We knew Barry as, just common knowledge, that girls were never anything that he was ever interested in,” Pope said, denying that she had been romantically interested in a young Obama.

She knew Obama used cocaine, which would have been “newsworthy” to her peer group at the time, and she believes the future president engaged in sexual activity in exchange for the drug.

“In other words, he was having sex with these older white guys, and that’s how he was getting his cocaine to be able to freebase,” Pope said.

She also suggested that Obama used his connections to these older men to gain entry to the prestigious Punahou School.

“It was certainly not a natural thing,” Pope said.

That all depends on what is behind any provable lie being told.

Obama is called a liar all the time, but very rarely has he been proven to be lying.

A true lie is very simple to prove. If someone knows what they are uttering at the time it is uttered, to not be true, it is a lie.

Now much has been made of the promise the President made that "if you like your health care coverage, you can keep it."

Did he know at the time he uttered it, repeatedly, that insurance companies would be dumping coverage on millions?

I don't believe he did, and no one can prove that he did.

Has Obama intentionally lied? I'm sure he has. Every politician embellishes the truth.

But he does not make a habit of it, like Sarah Palin did and continues to do.

I could care less if she snorted cocaine everyday, slept with 10 basketball players along with every business partner her secessionist husband ever had, and killed every moose on the plains from a helicopter. It was her downright stupidity and ignorance that made her unfit to hold any National Office such as Vice-President.

This country had already suffered through eight years of ignorance and stupidity with W. It certainly didn't need another dose of that kind of ignorance from Palin. At least W. had Condi Rice to teach him basic GEOGRAPHY. Palin couldn't have done even half as good as he did and he was a master at being an embarrasment with his made up words.

Sarah Palin was too stupid and ignorant to be taken seriously and had the McCain camp done a better job of vetting her they would have found that out much sooner and saved themselves the embarrasment of trying to explain why they chose her. Palin was definitely a GAME CHANGER no doubt because if anything changed the chances McCain had of winning the White House it certainly was their pick of Palin.

Do either of them scare me? Not anymore. Sarah Palin will never be elected to any national political office, therefore she can spout off all the nonsense she so desires and it will never affect so much as one person in this nation.

"Al, Obama is a liar and he has proved it himself."

Of course he has lied. He's hypocritical too. I doubt there exists a politician who has not lied or has taken a hypocritical position in their lives.

"anytime a person says something then later says he didn't say that and makes up something to justify his new statement is a liar. There is way to many videos out there that show everything he says so it is hard to say " I didn't say that"..."

Way too many? A couple at best.

Bill Clinton, like every other politician making the same claim, knows there is no way under heaven to keep such a promise. That would dictate forcing every insurance company and employer to maintain policies that they control.

PT- According to politifact.com you are wrong. President Obama has a pretty honest record. Better than yours.

From Politifacts:

Later, Obama spoke more specifically. In a speech to a joint session of Congress in September 2009, Obama said, "If you are among the hundreds of millions of Americans who already have health insurance through your job, or Medicare, or Medicaid, or the VA, nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have." We concluded that nothing in Obama’s proposal proactively forced such changes, and the bills clearly intended to leave much of the current health care system in place. So we rated the claim True.

From a later Politifact:

Jarrett said it was a "fact" that "nothing in Obamacare forces people out of their health plans."

Saying there’s "nothing" in the law that forces people out of their health plans is a pretty extreme claim -- one that implies that insurers who pull the plug on non-Obamacare-compliant plans are acting in some sort of government-free vacuum. Even if it’s technically true that the insurer pulls the plug on a plan, the insurer will only be doing this because the law itself and its implementing regulations have created a context in which, sooner or later, old-fashioned plans will inevitably pass into oblivion -- as the law always intended. We rate the statement False.

Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have." - True

"Nothing in Obamacare forces people out of their health plans." - False

Yeah Politifacts is a true and fair monitor of “truth” and not just another Democrat Party flack.

President Obama did not get to be the head of the Harvard Law Review just because of the color of his skin (although ignorant, stupid racists believe he did). He was able to articulate and express himself in a way few can ever do.

First Black Elected to Head Harvard's Law Review

By FOX BUTTERFIELD, Special to The New York Times

Published: February 06, 1990

The Harvard Law Review, generally considered the most prestigious in the country, elected the first black president in its 104-year history today. The new president of the Review is Barack Obama, a 28-year-old graduate of Columbia University ''The fact that I've been elected shows a lot of progress,'' Mr. Obama said today in an interview. ''It's encouraging.”

''But it's important that stories like mine aren't used to say that everything is O.K. for blacks. You have to remember that for every one of me, there are hundreds or thousands of black students with at least equal talent who don't get a chance,'' he said, alluding to poverty or growing up in a drug environment.

On his goals in his new post, Mr. Obama said: ''I personally am interested in pushing a strong minority perspective. I'm fairly opinionated about this.

(Could that statement be any more revealing? - Jt)

Professors and students at the law school reacted cautiously to Mr. Obama's selection. ''For better or for worse, people will view it as historically significant,'' said Prof. Randall Kennedy, who teaches contracts and race relations law.

Until the 1970's the editors were picked on the basis of grades, and the president of the Law Review was the student with the highest academic rank.

That system came under attack in the 1970's and was replaced by a program in which about half the editors are chosen for their grades and the other half are chosen by fellow students after a special writing competition. The new system, disputed when it began, was meant to help insure that minority students became editors of The Law Review.

(Seems to have worked like a charm ... Right? - Jt)

Harvard, like a number of other top law schools, no longer ranks its law students for any purpose including a guide to recruiters.

Black enrollment at Harvard Law School, after a dip in the mid-1980's, has reached a record high this year, said Joyce Curll, the director of admissions.

No .... nothing about this was about race or affirmative action ... surely you would agree ... Right?

November 13, 2013 at 5:07 p.m.

Cut out the propaganda. It's silly as hell at this point. Obama is not remarkable in any way. He's a dull, bland statist who would rather play golf and vacation rather than work. The fact is the right person with the right views can go a long way in academia. Academia is not the real world.

Obama is just a political hack, a campaigner, a teleprompter reader, a statist, a narcissist and a coward who would rather silence than debate. Big sissy.

November 13, 2013 at 5:17 p.m.

How ridiculous at this point to build up Obama's college days to prove he's really something, or achieved something. As president he's done nothing and can't wait to get the hell out before everyone notices how much damage he's done.

The 1st of May 2008 saw Obama break away from a tie and steadily build a lead over McCain. McCain was down by about 6 points during that period and only made one run at taking the lead before the election. On September 2nd, which was 2 days after selecting Palin and 4 days after the end of the Democrat Convention , McCain started to peak reaching about a 2.5% lead that he held for about 3 weeks. Then the newness and uniqueness of Palin wore off and McCain quickly returned to his familiar setting of being about 6% behind. Palin gave him a short term boost but McCain couldn’t inspire the Conservatives to turn out for him and he was dead meat from the beginning. I personally wouldn't vote for him under any circumstance for any position.

Not even 20 minutes later, referring to my puerile statement, you hilariously throw self-awareness out the window and write: ” You have absolutely no sense of self awareness.”

Would you prefer The sword cuts both ways, or the old pot & kettle adage?

His lie is worse than any lie told by any President. LBJ lying about Vietnam was pretty bad, but Obama is worse. His news conference today was a rambling, pathetic mess. No, but you definitely should have heard one. I responded to the response you gave to Al. In case you want to retract your statement let's go over it one more time:

This is Al's statement: Sarah Palin will never be elected to any national political office, therefore she can spout off all the nonsense she so desires and it will never affect so much as one person in this nation.

And this is your response to Al's statement: "Obama would kill for her won/loss record in political campaign endorsements and active support"

And this is the response I gave to your response about PRESIDENT OBAMA being willing to 'kill for her(Palin's) won/loss record...'

Why would PRESIDENT OBAMA be interested in Sarah Palin's won/loss record when he's already beat her and John McCain for the most powerful elected office in the World? Or maybe as per usual with your kind you forgot she was on the Republican ticket in 2008.

Again, let me break it down just a little more for you to understand: President Obama has nothing to be envious about or willing to kill when it comes to Sarah Palin's so-called won/loss record. This may be the dumbest thing I have read on the TFP comment section. I mean Obama won two presidential elections (and raised well over a billion dollars in campaign contributions, which to me is the best type of endorsement). Let's see, Palin was elected mayor of a town about the size of Cleveland, TN and governor of Alaska (one of the least populated states in the US).

I'm not sure what inspired you to make that statement.

No, Hillary's problem the last time around was the stone hung around her neck because she made the mistake of supporting George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq. She was one of the ones who had voted for that debacle and by the time she along with the rest of the world realized they had been bamboozled it was too late to erase her vote for that war. She won't have that problem this time and on top of that she has even more experience this time running a campaign then she did the last time. If she decides to run, she will win and there's nothing teabaggers and the rest can do to stop her.

Obama endorsing the free market over the public sector?

Looks like, for his personal needs, he’s smart enough to go with the private and profit motivated.

“If you're doing it at the federal government level, you know, you're going through, you know, 40 pages of specs and this and that and the other and there's all kinds of law involved. President Obama will go down in history as the most influential ever to serve. History will show he could publicly say something totally false to convince people to see something his way and they would applaud then forgive him unconditionally and blame others when the truth was revealed.

People falling for this scam on society would buy a brand new car that has not been driven and start overhauling it on day one and spend as much overhauling as they paid for the new car. It has been proven many times that demolishing an old structure often by imploding it is cheaper and more effective than trying to repair or upgrade what is there.

ObamaCare's latest trick is the "junk plan hustle." Over and over, we keep hearing about how our White House overlords are doing Americans a favor by canceling the insurance they like and replacing it with "appropriate" health plans. But most of those plans are not junk plans. That is just another lie the White House is telling, and the media are letting them get away with it.

The media know the White House is lying about this junk plan nonsense because the ObamaCare guidelines for what isn't a "junk plan" only includes 2% of the policies currently in existence.

According to HealthPocket, a health-insurance consulting firm, fewer than 2 percent of individual plans on offer today meet all ACA requirements. The most frequent reason for noncompliance was not a failure to cover hospitalization, as the administration has suggested, but not providing pediatric care, including vision and dental care for children. A worthwhile benefit, perhaps, but if you are childless, it’s hard to see how lacking such a benefit makes your policy subpar.

This is why other serious think tanks believe that before this nightmare is over, up to 93 million people could lose the insurance Obama promised they could keep.

Obama is doing it again. Earlier this year he delayed the employer mandate now he is delaying the individual mandate.

Dialectical Marxism: 3 Steps Forward = Obama Care, 2 Steps Back = Delay Employer Mandate:

The Devil is in the Dialectic -

What is the dialectic? It means progress towards the perfect Marxist state is not always in a straight line. This is why the devil is in the dialectic. A classic example just occurred today when the White House announced that President Obama was delaying the ObamaCare employer mandate for a year.

When Marxists push their agenda too hard, so hard that people start to get edgy and the fallout gets to be too noticeable, they’ll pull back and take the pressure off. [Taken from the teachings of Vladimir Lenin,] Red Scarf children under Mao [Zedong] were made to do the dialectic march of three steps forward and two steps backward. The way Fred Schwartz describes it in the book “You Can Still Trust the Communists to be Communists,” he likened it to the action of hammering a nail. First the hammer comes down—–ObamaCare—–then the hammer comes back up——delay ObamaCare employer mandate——then the hammer comes back down again—-implement ObamaCare employer mandate.

Remember when President Obama wanted to appear as if he was someone who wanted to lower taxes so he had the Democrats lower payroll taxes until after the 2012 election, and then everyone’s payroll taxes went back up? That was another example. They pretend to be conservative before they bring down the hammer of their progressive agenda.

That too many companies were changing many of their employees from full time to part time and the employment numbers were obviously not improving as a result of the impending mandate to force employers to purchase health insurance started to get the Democrat’s where it hurts. Even the unions were mad about it. Something had to be done. It was time to bring the hammer back up again. Some call it a brilliant move. We’ll see. The best laid plans of mice and men .

President Obama v. the Clintons.

Congressional divide between red-state Democrats and Obama loyalists.

The party's Hillary Clinton-Elizabeth Warren split.

Charles Hurt at the Washington Times also sees the looming civil war, not in the GOP but among the Dems:

Despite what the hysterical media will tell you, those distant blasts you heard last week rolling from New York City to Richmond were not cannon fire from the ongoing civil war within the Republican Party. They were the first shots fired in the civil war that is about to break wide open within the Democratic Party.

It's so tense that yesterday Jake Tapper could not find a single Democrat to come on his CNN show The Lead to discuss Obamacare.

No GaussianInteger you’re the loon as Rick1’s statement was exactly right. There was no failure on the part of Congress to extend the payroll tax cut since they had no intention and made no effort to do so. It was a stupid tax cut in that the payroll tax is separate to the general fund and funds the nation’s retirement system that is already in a dire financial condition. Why would Obama think it was a wise action to take? Oh wait !?! Don’t 47% pay no federal income taxes so if he cut that tax then his base wouldn’t share in it and wouldn’t be happy with him giving a tax break to 53% of wealthy citizens that actually pay the operating costs on this enterprise.

Dozens of times over his campaign to pass ObamaCare and to win re-election, President Obama lied to the American people about being able to keep the health insurance they like. But that lie has only been replaced with another: the lie that these cancellations will be limited to the 5% of Americans in the individual marketplace.

Over at National Review, in a piece appropriately titled "Lying About Lies," Michael Tanner reports that the same ObamaCare formula currently wiping out the individual market is about to rain hell on the employer-based market. The result will be that tens of millions of policies will be wiped out.

This is a secret that is and always has been hiding in plain sight.

As far back as last March, the media dutifully reported that the CBO reported that these cancellations were coming. So the media knew Obama was lying during the campaign but never said a word to spread this truth -- oh, except to call Mitt Romney a liar for telling the truth.

All these Democrats and members of the elite media now pretending they don't or didn't know… Please.

Just as the media knew Obama was lying about people in the individual market being able to keep their insurance, the media also know that the same apocalypse looms for the employer-based market. The only reason that hasn’t happened yet is that the employer mandate was postponed for a year, so employer plans don’t yet have to be ACA-compliant. But they will.

Even the Congressional Budget Office estimates that as many as 20 million workers will lose their current employer-sponsored plans. Combine that with those losing individual plans, and more than 30 million Americans cannot keep their current insurance.

It appears any plan better than the plans called Obama care will be considered a Cadillac and taxed. Any capital gains transaction of more $250,000 will pay an additional tax. Medicare participants that think they are unaffected are in for a surprise. Subsidies are provided via tax reductions therefore reducing tax revenue from those earning up to $94,000 with a family of four. Either the deficit and debt increases or taxes have to be increased. Many or most of those enrolling so far will be on Medicaid paying zero premiums, copay or deductibles. Medicaid is already stressed to the limit so copays on some items are larger to help a little. There is no reliable way to verify income so the number getting more than their income justifies is huge. The incentive to work for cash and exchange work for work thus avoiding reportable income just became greater. All the intended and unintended consequences will not be known until the act is fully implemented.

The money sucked out of the economy by increased health care insurance premiums, high deductibles and copays combined with higher gas prices will reduce the demand for products and services which will have a significant negative impact on the economy. IT IS TIME for full implementation so the unknown becomes known.

Quote: "The plan is to allow those things that had been proposed over many years to reform a health-care system in America that certainly does need more help so that there's more competition, there's less tort reform threat, there's less trajectory of the cost increases, and those plans have been proposed over and over again,"

And while she can’t coherently explain just what alternative is, she sure made it DAMN clear why it’s not being implemented.

"And what thwarts those plans? It's the far left, It's President Obama and his supporters who will not allow the Republicans to usher in free market, patient-centered, doctor-patient relationship links to reform health care."

Ohhh kay then sweetie.

It hasn’t been this quiet since Obama threatened to kick Assad’s a## but then crawfished.

From Reuters:

More than two and a half years into the civil war devastating Syria, the United States and Russia are pushing the combatants to the negotiating table in Geneva, but on terms that mark a shift in favor of Bashar al-Assad against the increasingly fragmented rebels seeking to oust him.

Since the August 21 nerve gas attacks on rebel suburbs ringing Damascus, which brought the U.S. to the brink of a missile assault on Assad's forces, the diplomatic tide has turned against the opposition, which briefly believed external intervention would enable its forces to launch a final offensive. Instead, the combination of hesitation by President Barack Obama's administration and an 11th hour deal brokered by Russia, a key Assad ally, to decommission Syria's chemical arsenal, has wrong-footed the rebels, now under intense U.S. and European pressure to attend talks in Geneva with a vague agenda.

Why don’t McCain and Kerry arrange a meeting in Syria with the rebel forces about right now? If they do I hope someone thinks to post the video.

From Reuters:

As food begins to flow into Bashar al-Assad's Syria after several months of disruption, some of the president's close allies stand to make substantial profits from the secretive trade, according to trade and opposition sources with knowledge of the situation. Using front companies and shipping lines, a discreet commercial and logistical network is now emerging, which aims not only to procure food commodities but to generate big returns for members of Assad's inner circle, trade sources familiar with the matter say.

I heard that Assad has offered Obama a bribe if he will promise to threaten Assad every few months.

"Gaussianiat.....so funny from the HATE filled Democratic party that has hearded my people, blacks, into a voting block for 50 years and basically stunted their growth while destroying fine Americans like Clarence Thomas, Sarah Palin, Herman Cane, and countless others. The rumor is out there that Barry and Michelle have gone splitsville. Obama's speech yesterday was an hour long lie."

Dude, it doesn't matter who said what, don't you have an ounce of decency? Does it make you feel big and bad for insulting a couple of young girls or punch some elderly lady in the face? What next, are you going to walk down the street and kick a puppy? You sound like a teenager that just got busted doing something wrong and your excuse is, "Well so-and-so did it, so why can't I". If it's a "HATE filled Democratic party" you so much despise, why do you jabber off nothing but HATE-filled nonsense? You are a hypocrite of the worse sense. And stop reading so much National Enquirer, it just corrodes your brain cells.

After repeatedly bashing senators like Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) over their crusade to defund Obamacare, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called for the “total repeal” of the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday. It’s a stunning turnaround after the longtime senator in September proclaimed that it was “not rational” to think Obamacare could be defunded or repealed. - Jason Howerton

From AP:

September 26th, 2013

With just five days to go before Americans can begin signing up for health care under his signature law, President Barack Obama on Thursday ridiculed Republican opponents for "crazy" doomsday predictions of the impact and forecast that even those who didn't vote for him are going to enroll. "The closer we get, the more desperate they get," Obama argued.

THe idiot didn’t realize he was standing in the middle of the road and was about to get “freight trained”

Obama's approval rating is at 39%, the question that brings is what is it they approve of? The state exchanges appear to be working ok, does that suggest healthcare should be a state issue?

Mickeyvermin.....what's the difference? Liberal Democrat vs. Communist sympathizer? Zilch. No Lee Harvey Oswald was a class warfare liberal and would have been a BIG BIG Obama supporter. No doubt about it.

Oswald might actually be Nancy Pilosi's biological love child. :)
