Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Rick Smith will give his annual “State of the Schools” address Wednesday to the Hamilton County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations.
The presentation is set for 11 a.m. in the school board’s meeting room, at 3074 Hickory Valley Road. The event is open to the public.
Smith says he’ll touch on highlights of this academic year, including the school system’s recently released strategic plan, an effort to improve reading achievement and the school system’s quest to upgrade technology. Other topics will include school leadership, school safety and the Common Core State Standards.
