The Mountain Opry, a Friday night tradition for legions of bluegrass and old-time musicians, will mark its 34th anniversary at this week's show, Friday, Sept. 6.

To celebrate the occasion, producer Ken Holloway has expanded the lineup of performers. Set to play are Mountain Cove, New Bluegrass Express, Possum Hunters, Cumberland Band, Ryan Stinson, Big Woods, Scenic City Ramblers and Lonesome Hollow.

To accommodate the extra music, the start time will move up an hour to 7 p.m. Performances take place inside the Walden's Ridge Civic Center, 2501 Fairmount Pike.

Admission is free. For more information, call 423-886-3252.
