Hamilton County Commissioners today elected Commissioner Jim Fields as pro tempore of the body.
Fields will lead meetings if Chairman Fred Skillern is unavailable.
Fields was voted in after three votes resulting from an initial three-way tie between Commissioners Chester Bankston, Tim Boyd and Fields.
The commission voted during a recessed commission meeting from last week.
