Pedestrian struck and killed northwest of Atlanta

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident just northwest of Atlanta.

Authorities say the woman was struck and killed on Cobb Parkway in the Kennesaw area before this morning's rush hour.

Kennesaw police Officer Scott Luther tells WXIA-TV that she was struck between Mack Dobbs Road and Pine Mountain Road around 4 a.m. The driver of the car stopped and called 911 after she was struck.

The accident led to some traffic delays in the pre-dawn hours, but all lanes had reopened by 6:15 a.m.

Few other details were immediately available as police continued to investigate the death.
