HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Gov. Robert Bentley plans to join other state and local officials in Huntsville to participate in the ribbon cutting at General Electric Intelligent Platforms.
The ceremony is scheduled for this afternoon.
A spokeswoman for the governor says the ribbon cutting will celebrate a $2.7 million expansion by GE, including creating a Center of Excellence. The expansion is supposed to add 50 jobs to the 243 employees already at GE's Huntsville operation.
