Dunning, Enicks best in region and other sports news

Red Bank High School track coaches Hugh Enicks and Donell Dunning were the overall masters winners as well as their age-group winners in one event each Saturday at the Masters Southeastern Track and Field Championships at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. Enicks, the Lions' head coach who is in the men's 50-54 age group, won the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12 minutes, 20 seconds. Dunning was the 35-39 and overall winner in 11.16 in the 100-meter dash. "It was 95 degrees on the track and we're both a little out of shape, but we got it done," Enicks said by telephone. They will compete in six weeks in the national competition in Winston-Salem, N.C.
