Monroe County Mayor Tim Yates wins GOP primary, faces Democrat Jim Stutts in general election

Monroe County Mayor Tim Yates won the Republican primary today with 2,551 votes.

Fellow Republicans Bob Lovingood, Irad Lee and William Bell followed, with 1.655, 726 and 246 votes, respectively.

Lone Democratic candidate Jim Stutts took 690 votes.

Stutts and Yates will face off in the August general election.
