The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. Perhaps all you liberals should move to Chicago.

Again, my apologies to Woodstock for comparing him to you. The only thing the people of Tennessee did was to give us George W. Bush. The man who brought us the Iraq War in which over 4000 U.S. soldiers lost their lives needlessly, Thousands more were maimed for life needlessly, Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians were killed and maimed needlessly, Served as a recruiting tool for Al Qaeda, Sent the American Economy on a downward spiral that just about bankrupted the country, sanctioned torture of prisoners, allowed the man that was the financier and mastermind of the attack on 911 to remain free for over a decade, and last but certainly not least made the United States the laughingstock of the World for ever electing him as "our leader".

That's what Tennessee did by voting for Bush instead of Gore. Like I've said before the State's motto should be "Proud to be Stupid and Ignorant." As far as letting go, it's you RWNJ's who can't let go of something. Barack Obama was legitimately elected NOT ONCE BUT TWICE WITHOUT ANY CONTROVERSY OVER WHETHER OR NOT HE HAD ENOUGH POPULAR OR ELECTORAL VOTES!! Bush got into the White House by a total of 540 popular votes in the state of Florida in 2000 and that's how he got enough votes to win the required 270 electoral votes to win the White House. He lost the overall popular vote in 2000 by over 500,000 votes. In other words had the election been determined by popular vote only HE WOULD HAVE LOST IN 2000.

In the 2008 election Barack Obama won more popular votes than John McCain and more than enough electoral votes to be declared the CLEAR WINNER and the same thing in 2012 with his win over Mitt Romney. It's all of the RWNJ's who have attempted at every turn to de-legitimize him as President. Maybe you should look in the mirror when it comes to talk of "letting go."

Yeah, Guass, coulda, shoulda, woulda. Gore lost. He lost Tennesseee, his home state. Had he won Tennessee, he would've won.

SO, he didn't get the electoral votes. Tough cookies.

He lost. Your bitterness oozes from your post. He simply lost. He had plenty of opportunities to win in other states as well. Bush also won in 2004. Your litany of bitching regarding Bush is just gas. He won twice, BO won twice, so what? Gore, has proven since that he's a greedy, stupid, hypocritical, swindler and a fraud.

Regarding BO, who saying he didn't win legitimately? He won twice handily. You libs love slapping the racist label on anyone who doesn't agree with his policies. Grow up. Bo is a fool, he won't twice handily and it's not good for him. He doesn't like his poll numbers, so he cries racism even though he won twice which couldn't have been done without without all the racist white people.

BO completely fooled you libs. He's turned out to be in bed with corporations(his kind), and has cranked up the police state even more. Where's your bold, clean, idealistic man of the people?

For Democrats to whine about voter fraud is laughable. There's never been a state more scrutinized for it's results than Florida 2000. He lost, get over it. Once, again, who the hell loses their home state. For gosh sakes even Mondale won his home state of Minnesota. I don't know about McGovern in 1972, but not many candidates lose their home state. What an embarrassment.

May 7, 2014 at 2:21 p.m.

You libs voted for Mr. Revolution and all he's done is strengthen the Gov's grip on us, made the police state more powerful, made the black community poorer, kissed up to corporations so he'll benefit in the future, intruded more into our lives, back great organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood, and played endless rounds of really bad golf.

Face it, April. Your best efforts to get your Tea Party craziness and religious homophobia to connect with voters didn't work. Even all the Tea Party money and Christian fundamentalist extremists working for Councilman's Anderson ouster because he is gay didn't work.

The Tea Party made Councilman Anderson's sexual preference the issue, not the councilman's fiscal plan. That's where you and the Tea Party screwed-the-pooch. While most Chattanoogans are conservative fiscally, you made it a referendum on sex. And you failed miserably.

If the Tea Party fundies can't win in such a republican and conservative stronghold, how can the likes of Palin, Ryan, Cruz, and Bachmann win a national election?

They can't! But please, keep preaching that American Exceptionalism, God fearing, Jesus saving, church-praying, snake-treading, flag-waving-military for Exxon and God, an America just for white Christian fundamentalists scared of everything.

I'm sure they believe they were, and if so, then the Bible is totally useless, if anyone who believes themselves "inspired" by God, to change it.

The Bible has been altered. That we know for sure. Who did it and for what reasons? That remains a bit murky.

"Your opinion that they are mislead may be wrong."

No...I'm rather certain that Catholicism is not supported by the Bible, but then Christianity isn't either.

"Do you think conservative will ever realize he has been duped by the devil and that is why he feels so miserable and unsettled all the time?"

Mr. Dennis, if you have some point of disagreement, by all means chime in. Don't just sit there and call everyone ignorant and not explain why someone else is ignorant.

I know you're a Catholic. I'm sure you like your religion. There's nothing wrong with that.

But, if you believe that Catholicism is supported by Biblical scripture, now's your time to contribute something to the debate.

Cite the Biblical proof.

First of all, where in the Bible does it appear, telling me that I can only talk to God through an ordained Priest?

Does the word "Catholic " even appear in the Bible?

Nope...not once.

How can one be ignorant of something that does not exist?

Oh...and just so you know that I'm not being partial in any manner, the Morman religion most definitely is not supported by the Bible either.

Mr Provancher, As I've stated many times, I don't argue the Bible on this forum. It's much to akin to arguing about Ford vs. Chevy...no one wins. As for the Bible supporting the Catholic Church, no there is no header proclaiming The Church of the Bible is the Catholic Church. In fact, the word Catholic was not used until the 1st or 2nd Century. The word is translated as meaning "universal", and since this was lightyears prior to Luther, the Catholic Church was the only Christian Church. Insofar as "talking to God" (I assume you mean via prayer), there is no reference to that in the Bible, nor in Catholic teaching. You're simply misinformed on this one. That one is just one of the false beliefs of the ignorant that apparently still lingers.

So priests and the Pope are no longer intermediaries between the common folk and your god in the Catholic Church? I guess that whole "Vicar of Christ" thing is a bunch of hogwash, right?

By the way, there are winners when debating religion. It's just that religious folks tend to lose such debates.

Once again, the little pockets of ignorance allow for statements like yours. There's a huge difference between asking an intermediary to pray for you as opposed to saying one can only talk (pray) thru a priest. It's like you, Easy, could ask me to say a prayer for you. I would be the intercessor. capisce?

"As for the Bible supporting the Catholic Church, no there is no header proclaiming The Church of the Bible is the Catholic Church."

That's for doggone sure.

"In fact, the word Catholic was not used until the 1st or 2nd Century. The word is translated as meaning "universal", and since this was lightyears prior to Luther, the Catholic Church was the only Christian Church."

Sir, I'm quite sure that the word "Universal" does not appear in the Bible either. Try again.

I guess the Bible is outdated, if your explanation holds a drop of water.

"Insofar as "talking to God" (I assume you mean via prayer), there is no reference to that in the Bible, nor in Catholic teaching."

Praying to God is not mentioned in the Bible? Hoo boy!! I think you may need to review that one.

You do know that the Catholic Church has it's own Bible, don't you?

Ever seen a Catholic Church without a confessional? Whom does one speak with when entering one of those things? The Catholic go-between to God.

"You're simply misinformed on this one."

I am anything but misinformed. I grew up in the Catholic Church. You're purposely attempting to misrepresent the very Institution you claim as the foundation for your religion.

"That one is just one of the false beliefs of the ignorant that apparently still lingers."

Perhaps you should inform the Pope of this latest change in Catholic Doctrine, according to Jack Dennis. There's a whole bunch of priests who should have been given their pink slips, if they are no longer required in the Catholic Churches, as you claim.

LMAO!!!

Please...don't waste your pity on me. I don't need an ounce of it.

"You're far and away more pitiful than ConMan."

Why? For expressing some honesty when it comes to certain misguided facets surrounding religion, which are never, ever questioned?

"And you have the balls to say that you're a Christian."

You bet. What I am not is a Christian who never uses his brain, who listens to a preacher on a pulpit and never questions their interpretation of scripture, nor am I a Christian who does not consider the context by which scripture is presented, and I am not a Christian who believes that ANY organized religion has a lock on religious reality.

And no offense, but you really are the last person I would stand still and take a dressing down for my alternative beliefs, for it's obvious that you are not devoted to your choice of religion, for you worship the Internet.

Your computer is your alter. And your demeanor on a daily basis is not reflective of Christian values that I have ever been aware of.

Those acid fingers of yours don't bode well for a man who claims to worship God.
