UTC's KaVonne Towns reaches for a rebound in the game against Villanova Friday at McKenzie Arena.The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team received a huge game from Jasmine Joyner, and defeated Villanova 49-45 in the first game of the Tip-Off Classic at McKenzie Arena.
Joyner finished with 16 points and 20 rebounds, the latter tying for fifth all-time in a single game. She sealed the win with a pair of free throws with 4.7 seconds to go. Moses Johnson added 13 points.
Lauren Burford had 19 points to lead the Lady Wildcats (0-1).
