Give thanks, 'Beat Hunger' at UTC Percussion Ensemble concert

In keeping with tradition, the UTC Percussion Ensemble will give thanks and "Beat Hunger" with its annual concert Monday, Nov. 24.

The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St. Those attending may contribute two nonperishable food items or write a check for $2 to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen, the "Beat Hunger" beneficiary.

Dr. Monte Coulter, who directs the ensemble, says this year's concert will feature some holiday music. Selections include "Farandole" by Georges Bizet, "Fanfare for the Return of Shadow" by Brett Dietz, "The Doomsday Machine" by Michael Burritt, "No Exit" by Lynn Glassock, "Carol of the Bells" (traditional) and "Coventry Carol" (traditional).
