Police charge man with aggravated robbery over oxycodone taken from Cummings Highway Walmart

A man has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, after he took oxycodone from a Walmart on Cummings Highway.

Darren Lopaciuk, 53, is currently being held in Dade County awaiting extradition, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Chattanooga Police responded to the Walmart at 3550 Cummings Highway for a robbery from business at 12:20 p.m. today.

Police said a man entered the pharmacy, jumped the counter and approached the pharmacist on duty. He stated he had a gun and demanded oxycodone and hydrocodone pills police said.

The suspect fled the scene with the medication in an unknown vehicle, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery and the suspect never displayed a weapon, police said.
