I have three suggestions for Frazier Avenue traffic and pedestrian safety that will maintain the current number of traffic lanes.
1. Designate the four-block area from the Veterans Bridge to Velma Street a heavily congested pedestrian zone and treat it like a common school zone with a 20 mph speed limit and all the normal caution lights in each block.
2. Install transverse lane rumble strips that slow normal traffic speeds but don't interfere with emergency vehicles.
3. As much as I hate them ... install speed violation cameras. They seem to work in the "S" curves on Hixson Pike, Norcross Road and others.
