At a monthly meeting Wednesday, the Carter Street Corp. reported a strong month in October that should lead into a steady November for the Chattanooga Convention Center.
During October the convention center hosted 50 events, bringing in total revenue of $688,000 and creating $2.8 million in estimated economic impact for the city, said Carter Street Executive Director Mike Shuford.
He said the convention center secured six future conventions during the month, including a Tennessee Credit Urban League convention and five back-to-back annual Future Business Leadership Association conventions.
"We're fortunate to get that," he said of the FBLA convention, which was pursued by other cities and represents 8,950 hotel room nights.
