Scott receives Hospice award
Debra Scott, hospice aide for Amedisys Hospice, has been named Hospice Aide of the Year by the company.
Scott was nominated by her peers at the Amedisys care center in Chattanooga and was selected from hundreds of the company's clinicians across 37 states.
"Taking care of our patients is the heart of what we do at Amedisys," said Bill Borne, Amedisys CEO.
The award was presented to Scott for positively influencing patients and families, promoting patient independence, proving to be flexible toward assignments, and functioning as an outstanding member of the home care team to help achieve the best possible outcome and patient satisfaction.
Killebrew wins citizenship award
Signal Mountain Realtor Lois Killebrew is the first recipient of the George Kangles Community Citizenship Award from the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors.
Killebrew has over 30-plus years of experience in the industry.
"This is so special to me," she said.
GCAR Past President Randy Durham said Killebrew is "an advocate, activist and tireless worker for everything that makes the real estate industry and its members successful."
Through involvement in governmental affairs at the association, Kangles maintained active participation, support and investment in the Realtors Political Action Committee, including participation in visits to the state capital and local lobbying efforts with elected officials on behalf of GCAR members.
Valley opens Circe Clinical Services
Dr. Marc A. Valley has opened Circe Clinical Services in Chattanooga.
Circe utilizes cutting-edge technology and advanced procedures to establish accurate diagnosis and treatment plans to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic pain, according to the practice.
Valley is a Johns Hopkins graduate and former U.S. Air Force physician.
His clinical interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, pain caused by cancer and neuropathic pain.
4D Strategy Group launched
Cheri Dedmon has launched 4D Strategy Group LLC where she will act as owner and educational consultant.
The company aims to align workforce development needs specific to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics school curriculum in partnership with local businesses and educational organizations.
It helps build and maximize leadership capacity at various levels within organizations and offers continuing support to these leaders to help achieve desired results.
Petty serving on exec panel
Chattanooga financial services veteran Ward Petty has been promoted to serve on the Executive Management Committee for Benjamin F. Edwards & Co., the St. Louis-based brokerage firm.
His selection follows his success in opening the firm's office in Chattanooga in July 2011, which he currently manages while also continuing to advise clients on their financial affairs and investment plans.
"Although his first priority is his clients, he finds time to meet with advisors in the Southeast who are interested in becoming part of the Edwards family, as well as extend his knowledge and insight on a variety of firm issues," said Benjamin F. Edwards IV, founder, chairman and CEO of the brokerage firm.
Helping Petty with his supervisory responsibilities at Benjamin F. Edwards & Co. is Julie Wilson, who joined the company in June as the assistant branch manager.
Erlanger gets AHA citation
Erlanger Health System has received national recognition from the American Heart Association for its commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care and ensuring stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted guidelines.
Jim Groover, director of quality improvement initiatives for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association in Georgia and East Tennessee, presented the gold plus certificate from the "Get With The Guidelines" program to the Erlanger Southeast Regional Stroke Center.
