A free concert celebrating farmers and the rural farm community is planned for Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Northwest Georgia Amphitheatre, 220 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold, Georgia.
The Farm to Flight Tour's Harvest Celebration is sponsored by Agrisoma USA, a company whose mission is expanding low-carbon solutions for biofuels. Agrisoma uses a non-food crop, Carinata, to create a supply chain from the farmers who grow it to the companies who buy the biofuel.
Since last spring, Agrisoma has sponsored grower events - similar to, but smaller than this weekend's concert - across the Southeast from Mississippi to Arkansas. Agrisoma called them the Farm to Flight Tour as a nod to the supply chain from farmer to the aeronautic contracts.
Saturday's concert is family friendly with no alcohol allowed. Six bands will perform between 3 and 10 p.m. playing country, Christian country, gospel and bluegrass music.
Performing will be Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Perrys, Kolt Barber, The Browsers, Mercy Mountain Boys and Right Path Bluegrass. Guests may bring folding chairs if they prefer not to sit on the amphitheater's concrete steps.
Although this music fest is free, there is a $10 suggested donation. However, anyone who hasn't got the money to spare won't be kept out, say organizers with Maverick Management. Donations will help offset the discounted cost of concessions and operational expenses such as venue rental.
