As is tradition, Chattanooga pitmaster James Hands will be tending the grill for the Sale Creek Lions Club's annual barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 18.

In addition to Hands' pork barbecue, slow-cooked overnight, the menu will include baked beans, slaw, rolls, drinks and desserts. Cost is $8 per plate.

Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and gospel singers will take the stage on the hour. Scheduled to sing are Crystle Elam at 11 a.m., Willow Creek at noon, Calvary's Blend at 1 p.m., Glorified at 2 p.m. and Blake Smithey at 3 p.m.

The clubhouse is at 15222 Coppinger Road behind Sale Creek Middle/High School. Proceeds from the barbecue help fund the Lions Club's community projects.
