Man dies of gunshot wound, twin charged

Investigators charged a Cleveland, Tenn., man with second-degree murder in the shooting of his 46-year-old twin brother, according to Cleveland Police Department spokeswoman Officer Evie West.

Rick Conner, 46, died of a gunshot wound to the upper chest that he sustained at the DayBreak Suites Extended Stay hotel Friday afternoon. West said his twin brother Rod Conner was the only other person in the room at the time the victim was shot with a pistol. The victim was taken to Sky Ridge Medical Center where he died.

Rod Conner called police about 3:30 p.m. West said the two were intoxicated and the shooting was likely the culmination of an argument.

Rod Conner has difficulty communicating because of a past stroke. His brother was taking care of him while the two lived in the hotel.
