The right lane of Interstate 24 east will be closed today between mile markers 3.8 and 4.3 in Dade County, Ga., according to a news release.
Mohamed Arafa, with the Georgia Department of Transportation, said the area of closure is between exits 167 and 169.
The lane will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. so GDOT crews can repair the guardrail, the release stated.
State sees little decrease in meth
KNOXVILLE - Tennessee has about the same number of methamphetamine labs as it did two years ago, despite new laws and a new system for tracking the drug's main ingredient, pseudoephedrine.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports authorities expect the statewide total to reach nearly 1,800 busts for the year.
State law limits consumers to about three boxes of pseudoephedrine per month. But that doesn't stop meth cooks from recruiting other people to buy it, often using fake IDs.
Police have reported finding buyers with 75 or more fake IDs.
Police are proud of one success story, however. Since the loss of federal funding for lab removal, they have trained local officers to dispose of lab waste, cutting the cost by half or better.
Twins charged in killing in jail
PENSACOLA, Fla. - The twin brothers accused in the killing of a former journalist whose body was found buried in concrete in Georgia are being held in a Florida jail to face murder charges.
Escambia County Jail records show William and Christopher Cormier were booked late Friday night, about a week after signing a waiver of extradition. They're being held without bond on homicide and robbery charges.
The body of Sean Dugas was found Oct. 8 encased in concrete and buried in the backyard of the twins' father's home in Winder, Ga. Police went to the home after being contacted by Florida authorities investigating Dugas' disappearance.
The twins originally faced charges in Georgia but investigators determined the slaying likely happened in Florida.
Missing teen found Saturday
MARIETTA, Ga. - A Cobb County teenager who was missing for nearly a day after he was seen jumping out of a special needs school bus was found Saturday afternoon walking on a golf course.
Cobb County police said 16-year-old Wilford Hardnett was found Saturday walking on the 18th fairway of Marietta Country Club carrying a bag of snacks.
