One dead, three injured in Sunday shooting in Grundy

Grundy County, Tennessee, authorities have confirmed that a shooting Sunday on State Route 108 left one person dead and three others injured.

Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum said in an email that a 32-year-old woman was fatally shot and three others were injured in a domestic incident in Altamont, Tennessee, on Sunday.

The Grundy County Herald reported on its website Sunday that a man entered a residence in Altamont and found his wife with another man. The man's wife and the other man attempted to leave the home but were shot by the woman's husband, the paper reported.

The woman's father shot at and hit the husband, keeping him from continuing to fire; however, the father also was shot.

The woman died of her injuries.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting as authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting. No names have been released.
