Susan Grant

Susan Belle Grant, 66, of Canton, Ga., formerly of Hixson, passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden P. and Virginia Eichhorn Grant of Red Bank. She was a graduate of Girls Preparatory School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, earning bachelor's and master's degrees. She taught English at Hixson Middle School for 35 years. She was an original member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and a Stephen Minister there. Susan will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her longtime friend, Jeanne Underwood; her sister, Martha Grant Scott, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; her brother, William H. Grant, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her son, Brian Thomas, of Hixson; her nieces, Betsy Grant Williams and Rebecca Grant; nephews, Grant Scott and Sonny Grant; and great-nieces and -nephew, Amanda Williams, Morgan Reeves, Lucy Grant and Hayden Grant. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Hixson.
