Frank Tarvin, Sr.

Frank DeForrest Tarvin, Sr., 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School and was an Army Veteran having served during W.W. II. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1981 after more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, working with his hands and was a loving and devoted husband, father, & grandfather. He never met a stranger and had the biggest heart of anyone you would ever meet, he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Greer and Grace Viola Tarvin; first wife, Virginia Neeley Tarvin; second wife, Ruth ONeal Tarvin; daughter, Debbie Culberson; grandson, Eric Culberson and brother, Bob Tarvin. Survivors include his five children, Carolyn Cannon, of Cleveland, Tenn., Theresa "Buddy" Turner, of Chickamauga, Ga., Frank Tarvin, Jr., of Chattanooga, Tenn., Suzy Keeton, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Rocky Tarvin, of Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Helen Perkins; sister-in-law, Mary Tarvin both of Chickamauga, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; loving companion, Girlfriend and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the J. Avery Bryan Chapel with Rev. Darrell Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon to 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes Chickamauga Chapel.
