Annie Bennett

Annie F. Bennett, 89, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at a local hospital.She was born on Dec. 22, 1923, in Chattanooga.She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former employee ofMercer Baking Co., Erlanger Hospital, Orange Grove Center and Waldorff's Dress Shop. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. and Helen I. Walker; husband, James E. Bennett; sisters, Mildred L. Harris and Julia W. Smith.Survivors include sons, Calvin (Zelma) Finley, Norfolk, Va., Eric L. and Henry M. Finley, Chattanooga; and special sons Randy L. Richards, Rossville, and David Hartman, Lambertville, Mich.; daughters, Mary H. (Sam) Townsend, Dianna F. (Floyd) Mathis, and Deborah E. (Charlie) Davidson, Chattanooga; nephews, Ronald (Rosalind) Harris, Chattanooga, Shanton (Kathy) Smith, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; niece, Tawana Smith, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; special longtime friends, Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Waldorff and Ms. Helen J. Reasons, Chattanooga; other relatives and friends.Special thanks to Mr. Jay Nason and staff at NHC Nursing Facility, Erlanger and Memorial Hospitals and Hospice of Chattanooga.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 E. Third St., with the Rev. Paul A.
