Georgia Bell Hagood, 91, wife for 61 years of the late Dr. Robert Bragg Hagood died at her home Sunday, July 14, 2013.A graduate of Womans College, University of North Carolina, she received a masters degree in Medical SocialWork from the University of Pittsburgh and was one of six students in the United States to complete the first third year program in Social Work at the Menninger Foundation School of Psychiatry in Topeka, Kan.She was among the first women to serve as an Elder in the Southern Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church.Survivors include sons, Robert III (Kyla), Lowndesboro, Ala.; George (Cathy), Chattanooga; grandsons Robert Bragg IV, James Fulmer; and granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth.A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church, 4300 Locksley Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37416.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Thaddaeus Episcopal Church Book of Remembrance.Send condolences at www.CovenantFuneral.com.Arrangements are by Covenant Funeral & Crematory, Crox family owned and operated.
