Milan Dekich

RINGGOLD Milan Hall Dekich, 85, died on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his residence. He was the son of an immigrant from Yugoslavia, born to the late Milan Dekich, and Maggie Bell Hall, of Harvest, Ala. Milan served in the Navy during WWII, worked at and retired from DuPont. Milan enjoyed working on his farm near Ringgold, Ga., where he raised chickens, cows and a family. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and camping outdoors. Milan was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved and was loved by his family who spent many wonderful hours with him. Milan was a man of integrity, honesty, and faith who was loved and admired by his friends and family. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. One friend said of him, "He was the best man I ever knew." A true man of God who now can say, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.Milan was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Dekich Parilac.Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Edith Lois (Hicklen) Dekich; three sons, Dr. Mark Anthony Dekich and wife Tess, Dr. Milan Brown Dekich and wife Barbara, Philip Neal Dekich and wife Barbara; daughter, Donna Ruth Alexander and husband Roger; 8 eight grandchildren; brother, Eugene Dekich and wife Nina. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Milan Brown Dekich officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Milan Michael Dekich, Kirk Wayne Alexander, Jimmy Martin, Preston Munsey, John Billings and Dr. Vladimir Ratushny serving as pallbearers.
