Louise Gravitt

Mary Louise Gravitt, 83, of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.Louise was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She taught Kindergarten at Middle Valley Baptist Church. She was retired from Ganns Middle Valley Elementary School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and very proud great grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, R. E. Gravitt; parents, Oliver and Madge Pelfrey; and brother, Clyde Pelfrey.Survivors include her children, Ronnie ( Mitzi) Gravitt, Donnie Gravitt, Nancy (Ed) Blaylock, all of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Shirley Phillips of Rome, Ga.; grandchildren, Micah (Sheri) Gravitt, Mandy (Dusty) Mullins, Mary (Brad) Rogers, Jamie (Joey) Barbeauld, Sarah Gravitt, Ashely Gravitt, Austin Gravitt; several great-grandchilden, Mason, Aubrey, Lilly, Maggie, Peyton, Nick, Anna, Rachel, Chris, Koree, Brinley, Rolley; and loving friends Tommy and JoAnn Smith.The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ted Painter officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
