Elaine Worden

Phyllis "Elaine" Curran Worden passed away at the age of 73 on Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Chattanooga after a long illness.She was born to the late Harold Leslie and Marian Elizabeth Rice Curran on April 14, 1937 in Owosso, Mich. Elaine was employed with McKee Foods Corporation for 41 years. She was a member of the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church and longtime leader of the Kindergarten II Division. Elaine was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Alyse Current and a brother, Leslie James Current.Survivors include her daughter, Tami Elizabeth Worden King, Collegedale; son, Rodney Orlund (Shelly) Worden, Washington, DC; two sisters, Joan L. Current, Collegedale and Jean (Willy) Overmyer, McDonald, Tenn.; two brothers, Edwin D. (Christine) Curran , Cedar Lake, Mich., and C. Alfred Curran, Fort Payne, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.A Celebration service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2,2010, at the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Kevin Becker officiating.Per Elaine's wishes, those attending the services are encouraged to wear colorful, casual attire.Memorial contributions can be made to the Elaine Worden - Memorial Fund at the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church or to the American Cancer Society at www.main.acsevents.org/goto/elaine.worden.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
