Elva Gipson

Elva June Priest Gipson, 81, passed away May 28, 2010. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia, MO 65202, 573-443-3173. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. June 2, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere, Tenn. Elva was born Aug. 23, 1928 in Elora, Tenn., to William and Louise Fraker Priest and they preceded her in death. Elva was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1954 she was the Polio Mother of the Year in Florida. She is survived by children, Donnie Gipson, wife, Audrey, of Conn., Sherrie Dye, of Tennessee and Ronnie Gipson, of Clark, Mo.; sister, Bonnie Ferrell, of Tennessee; four grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; niece, Maria Current; and nephew, Tommy priest, wife, Doris, of Florida; and numerous friends. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Era Mae Priest; and brother, Ira Lee Priest and Thomas Priest.
