Vernon Hixson

Vernon Lorene Hixson, 87, of Hixson, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, to the late Herman and Emma LeCroy. She was a member of the former Dallas Baptist Church and attended Calvary Baptist of Red Bank. Mrs. Hixson had worked for Access Drug Store for 10 years.Her husband, Joe Hixson Jr.; son, Richard "Ricky" Hixson; and brothers, Gordon, Earl, and Merle LeCroy preceded her in death.Survivors include her daughters, Jolene (Vaughn) Hatfield and Emily (David) Bird, of Hixson; stepson, Bill Hixson, of Dayton; grandchildren, Tonya Hatfield (Tracy) Frizzell, of Soddy-Daisy, Michael Bird, of Hixson, Crystal (Charles) Williams, of Dallas, Texas, Mark Hixson, of Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the North Chapel with the Rev. Steve Roberson and the Rev. Dwight Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Hixson Cemetery.
