Samuel James Shaw, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at his residence.He was formerly employed by the city of Chattanooga and was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his father, Will Shaw; sister, Willie Mae Duckworth; and nephew, Razale Shaw.Survivors include his mother, Ovell Shaw; daughter, Aleetra Shaw (Calvin) Rice; grandson, Calvin Logan Rice; sisters, Oceola (Walter) Few and Annie (Rufus) Benning; wife, Ernestine Shaw; several stepchildren; step- grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.Funeral service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. atGreater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Reginald Poindexter officiating.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.Visitation: today from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
