Wayne Johnson

ROSSVILLE Wayne Johnson, 69, exchanged time for eternity with Christ on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.He was born in Meigs County, Tenn., to the late James and Maudie Johnson, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Cass "Buddy" Johnson.Wayne retired as a Structural Steel Draftsman, was a volunteer for Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Anna Johnson; sons, Roger Wayne Johnson, of Rossville, Michael Alan (Beth Ann) Johnson, of Glennallen, Alaska; siblings, Dorothy Oakes, Clara Mae Johnson, Opal Brown, Geneva "Bitsy" Lee, Jimmy and Bobby Joe Johnson; grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Noah, Katelyn; and many nieces and nephews.The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Doctors Brooke and Davey Daniel, Dr. Derek Holland of Chattanooga Oncology at Memorial Hospital and the nurses and staff of Hospice of Chattanooga.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, April 30, 2011, in the chapel with Pastor Billy Jacks officiating.Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.Family will receive friends prior to the service today.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, 9250 Hutcheson Ferry Road, Palmetto, GA 30268.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
