.Arthur "AJ" Sharp Jr., 65, of Signal Mountain, departed this life Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.He retired from DuPont after 33 years of service.He was preceded in death by his parents, Rexsie and Arthur "Ott" Sharp Sr.; grandson, Sean Payton Higgins.Survivors include his wife, Mona Sharp; daughter, Cristal (Jim) Higgins, of Soddy-Daisy; son, Arthur "Jay" (Dana) Sharp III, of Falling Water; sisters, Joyce (RC) Wilson, of Ringgold, Barbara (Boyd) Veal, of Signal Mountain, Donna (Bill) Downer, of Flintstone, Melba (Skip) Loftis, of Hixson, and Pat (Gene) Lingerfelt, of Cohutta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brett Sharp, Kalyn Higgins and Kena Higgins; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Bishop Jackie Penny officiating.Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.Visitation is 10-1 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace.Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences.
