Anne Galyon

CHICKAMAUGA Elizabeth Anne Breazeale Galyon 76, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loved ones in Chickamauga.Born May 3, 1935, in Seneca, S.C., she was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe T. and Hermie M. Breazeale; and first husband, Walter E. Rankin Jr., of Fort Valley, Ga.Anne loved and lived life to the fullest through her strong faith and love for Jesus Christ. She was his servant formerly at Chickamauga Presbyterian Church and currently at Hope Fellowship. She served and accepted the roles as elder and clerk of the session while laying the foundation to help build Hope Fellowship.She had worked at the Chickamauga Drug Store for nine years and retired when her health started to decline. She also worked for David Bosshardt, M.D., retiring after 12 years as his office manager. Anne was always active in her communities in Fort Valley, Ga. as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and as the State Volunteer Leader of 4-H. She was a member of the Chattanooga/LaFayette Emmaus Community. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jess "Bill" Galyon; son, Walter (Darlene) Rankin III, Fort Oglethorpe; daughters, Libbie (LaRue) Hamilton, of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Laura (Michael) Phillips, LaFayette, Ga.; stepson and stepdaughter, Mike Galyon and Susan (Marvin) Galyon, both of Chickamauga; sister-in-law Emily (Kent) McCluskey, Nashville; grandchildren include Scott and Jeff Galyon, LaGrange, Ga.. Bob Swanson and Amber Jones, Chickamauga, Alex, Dylan and Haydon Phillips, LaFayette, Ga.; six great-grandchildren.Mom's celebration of life will be at Chickamauga Presbyterian Church, 700 Seventh St. Chickamauga, GA 30707, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, with Edward Langham and Michael Thomas officiating.Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m.-noon in the fellowship hall of the church prior to the celebration.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Hope Fellowship Building Fund, P.O. Box 1, Chickamauga, GA 30707.There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.Arrangements by the Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
