Helen Chalkley

Helen C. Chalkley, 90, of Flintstone, Ga., went home to be with her Lord Monday, August 29, 2011.She was born May 23, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late John and Alice Clinton.Mrs. Chalkley was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and Auditorium Sunday School Class. She was an honorary member of the Chattanooga Yacht Club.Her husband, William A. Chalkley; and two sisters, Julie Elder and Betty McMahan preceded her in death.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jim Nappier, of Flintstone; sister, Jessie Friddell, of Harrison; two grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the East Brainerd Chapel with the Rev. Bill Broom and Brother Mike Nappier officiating.Honorary Pallbearers will be the Auditorium Sunday School Class.Private burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from 10:30 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
