William Reichman

William Henry "Bill" Reichman, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. Bill was a native of Middleport, Ohio, born Dec. 17, 1922. A decorated veteran of World War II he was awarded a Purple Heart. After his service he settled in Chattanooga, Tenn., and became the owner of Northside Lumber & Building Supply Co. for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna and William H. Reichman Sr; sisters, Wanda Doone and Donna French.He is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years, Barbara Jordan Reichman; sister-in-law, Carol Mullins; daughters, Melanie (Ron) Tawater, Deborah (Don) Glover, and Kathryn (Greg) Atkins; grandchildren, Holly (Stan) Ingram, Adam Dillard, Carrie (Hunter) Brimi, Josh (Meghan) Buffat, Emily Buffat, Jordan Buffat, Zachary Little, Meagan and Matthew Atkins; great-grandchildren, Quentin and Connor Ingram, and Corbin Buffat and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at the North chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home today from 24 and 68 and Tuesday from noon-2.Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the North Chapel with the Rev. Phil Sumrall officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Adam Dillard, Joshua Buffat, Jordan Buffat, David Mullins, Scott Mullins and Mike Brock serving as pallbearers.The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and dedication to the entire family throughout Bills illness.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Chattanooga 4411 Oakwood Drive |Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to the Pet Placement Center 5975 Dayton Blvd Chattanooga, TN 37415.Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn 37343.
